My subject for this assignment is refugees. A pressing issue in both Sweden and Norway is housing and integration for refugees, as well as problems with racism growing alongside the number of refugees. There is of course no simple answer to these complex questions, but by inspiring meetings between people, perhaps we can break this barrier. The residential spaces consists of collectives that is half refugees and half people from Norway. In the collective they share every-day situations and this is most likely where the most crucial meetings will take place. The courtyards next to each other is connected through a staircase so that people from different collectives can wander and meet. The work areas consists of sections for small companies as well as open plan offices that can be used by residents in the building. On ground-level there are public programs such as stores, cafés, restaurants, courts for playing boule, a cinema and a house of culture.
